Been a bit, but I am back again for yet another useless blog post, that someone might find interesting.

My work has recently sent me to Hawaii. Now it really isn't what you might expect from the discovery channel; sunshine and untainted beaches. It is more like New York City with palm trees and more homelessness then you can shake a stick at. Oh and the traffic is horrible!!!









Day one, I get off the plane and I expected to just see beautifulness. Much to my surprise it was more like I walked into japan or Korea with palm trees everywhere.

Now I am not saying Hawaii is so bad not to go just putting it into perspective. The time shift was a bit to get used to being 6 hours behind the main land(Main Land?). Someone can correct me on the grammar for that later. The prices are very high like $9 for a gallon of milk. Bourbon is oddly enough pretty cheap here how ever, anyway 2 thumbs up for that.

I went exploring on day 6 to the Makaki Forest. It was every bit of what I
would think a rain-forest would look like. I came very ill prepared for said hike as when I went I wore a pair of old running shoes not really expecting too much. I was wrong! Bring hiking gear. It wasn't long before I was trudging though some muddy terrain and decided to turn back and take on this trail another day better prepared.By the way those shoes I am pretty sure are ruined. I will throw them through the wash and see what happens.


I have also been advised by the locals not to bring anything home with me that was "acquired" from the island in risk of bad luck or worse, but buying things that are from the island are ok.. maybe I am missing something. I don't know.

So far I haven't seen any waterfalls or anything of that sort, but I will be here for several more months, so I will have to keep exploring. I hope to go island hopping at some point and maybe during a weekend go scuba diving. There is also a zip-line around here somewhere that sounds like fun as well.
